We are a small British registered charity dedicated to assisting in the relief of poverty and sickness in The Gambia.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By focusing on carefully selected local projects, and by working closely with reliable contacts on the ground, we believe that a small charity like ours can make a real difference to the lives of thousands of families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We support health and nursery education projects that are not funded by the Gambian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We currently support two health clinics who provide affordable healthcare to thousands of Gambians of all ages. They provide facilities and subsidise medicines to wide catchment areas who would otherwise need to travel long distances to the nearest hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We work with our sister British charity,\u00a0Gambia School Support<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0 to help deliver nursery school education to over 2,000 children every year through 14 community schools located throughout the country.\u00a0 Since compulsory formal education in Lower Basic Schools does not begin until after age 7, these Early Childhood Development schools provide a lifelong head start to needy children. We believe education to be one of the most powerful and long-lasting ways of breaking the cycle of poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
